Orange Shirt Day

Inspired by the story of Phyllis (Jack) Webstad, Orange Shirt Day is held annually on September 30th. Phyllis was a student at St. Joseph Mission Residential School in Williams Lake B.C.

Join HDSB in recognizing the harm the residential school system did to the identity, self-esteem, and well-being of First Nations, Métis, Inuit children and their communities. Let’s show that everyone around us matters. Let’s move towards truth and reconciliation, together.
