Technically, it’s not called ‘sex-ed’ but that’s what everyone likes to say as it’s much shorter than ‘2015 Health and Physical Education Curriculum’.
I often get asked where I stand on this heated topic. And here it is … I’m very disappointed with the new Ford government’s decision to repeal the sexual health component of the 2015 Health and Physical Education Curriculum. I fully support the 2015 Curriculum as I am a strong advocate for empowering our children with knowledge that will promote their health and safety. As a Trustee, I will continue to advocate for our students as they need to be taught about safety, inclusivity and consent.
Turns out this isn’t just my own personal opinion, but also the opinion of hundreds of parents, grandparents, and non-parents that I’ve spoken with.
