I have known Tanya since she became School Council Chair at Joshua Creek Public School. Tanya came into a school council which was having some challenges and facilitated a change that made council a much better functioning group that focused on doing good things for the students and staff of Joshua Creek. Tanya is an active participant of the Wards 5 & 6 Family of Schools, sharing information and asking questions that benefits all. Tanya also volunteers within the school and community. Tanya Rocha cares about her community and will be a great School Board Trustee as she is well informed, passionate and dedicated to making sure that all students can succeed.

I am excited to have a local Joshua Creek Resident and Mom running for HDSB Trustee for Oakville Wards 3 & 6. Tanya Rocha is very active in the community and thus at the forefront of the important issues. My children go to Munn’s P.S. and Pilgrimwood P.S. outside of Wards 3 & 6, and I am confident that Tanya will advocate for my family by working with the other school wards. She is approachable, hard working and dependable. Join me in voting for Tanya Rocha on October 22nd.

I first met Tanya as a fellow parent in Joshua Creek many years ago. She has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment and an intense passion to improve the experiences of students within the school. She lives in the ward she seeks to represent and her children attend the public school there. There is no doubt in my mind that as a result of this she will work tirelessly to represent all the students and families in both wards.

I have known Tanya for a few years and whether she is at the playground with her kids or attending a School Council meeting, she is always poised, professional and friendly. When issues arose on Council, she was able to deal with them swiftly and was resourceful in finding the key people to assist her in creating new policies that were fitting to our School’s specific requirements. I witnessed first hand her ability to stand up for what she believed but in a completely respectful way. I know Tanya will be successful as our Trustee.

During the five years I’ve known Tanya, I witnessed and felt her passion for the education of children. She was enthusiastic about community and school activities. She voluntarily organized school hot lunch program, environmental and charitable activities in the community and school. As the chairperson of school council, She demonstrated outstanding leadership, excellent communication skills and affinity with parents, which helped establish a good communication channel between the school and the parents. I strongly believe she is the ideal candidate for School Trustee. With her excellent leadership and communication skills, she can more effectively communicate the voices of parents in the community and the aspirations of all races to educational decision-making institutions.
